2019 IS COMING TO A CLOSE //

"AWAKEN"

With 2019 coming to a close I have been reflecting back on all that has come and gone this year. It has been bitter sweet. I have gained so much but I have had to walk away from a lot of things that were extremely dear to me as well. Such is life. Nevertheless it has brought me to where I am today.

The AWAKEN series is a huge part of this. Really diving into this series has given me the opportunity to grow as a person and has taken me places I only dreamed I could achieve professionally as an artist. Finally showing it at Mills Gallery thanks to Anayansi Jones was a huge step for me. Redefine Art Gallery having faith in me and allowing me to show a majority of it all in one place alone was beyond what I could have imagined. Seeing it then pop up in more galleries like City Arts Factory and Snap! DOWNTOWN just was the icing on the cake. The feedback and response from viewers reminded me that I am on track with my ability to effectively communicate a specific message using only the imagery my mind conjures up. A task I will continue to work on until the day I die.

Because of all of this I am incredibly thankful for these experiences this year and all of the people involved. From all of you that have supported it by buying prints, showing up to events, chatting with me about what the art means to you, or simply just liking or sharing a post it means the world to me. I hope to continue this momentum into 2020 and I hope you all continue to support this madness along the way.

The moral of this all is simply...thank you. I can not do this without you. 🖤
